Repairing interior doors on your own is a quite feasible task, just in this article we will talk about it.
Correctly remove the old door block. Using a pry tool, the door block is removed from the hinges and dismantled.
Assembling a new door frame. We adjust the dimensions of the transverse and side rails, fix it securely with screws. Of course, it is better to purchase a door with a box already assembled.
Embedding loops. They are installed at a distance of 20 cm above and below the edge of the door.
Installing the lock. A meter from the floor – the recommended height for its installation. Using a drill and a chisel, make a notch to fit the part, drill a hole for the handles and fix the mechanism with screws.
Door frame installation. We perfectly align it in the opening, using a bubble level, fix it with wedges. Next, drill holes in the left and right ends of the box, pull out the box. Using a perforator, we make holes with dowels along the marks remaining on the walls, then we hammer them with a hammer. Install the door frame again and fix it with long screws. We fill the gaps between the box and the wall with mounting foam. Excess foam can be removed after three hours.
And finally, we fix the platbands using special finishing nails.
