Warm floor. Electric methods of floor heating

The electric type of arrangement of a warm floor, regardless of the variety, is, without the slightest pathos, a 21st century method with its inherent high heat transfer rates, relative ease of installation and cost-effectiveness, which is very important for users with modest financial capabilities. These properties have already brought electric heating immense popularity and an ever-growing army of adherents of this type of floor heating arrangement.

Modern electric floor heating has at least three clear advantages:

– efficiency of use as a source of room heating, both auxiliary and main, and electricity consumption is thus reduced to a reasonable minimum, significantly saving the owner money in comparison with standard household heaters;

– uniform heating of the room, as well as a high level of comfort: walking on a warm floor, a person feels incomparably more comfortable even at a relatively low air temperature than in a hot room, but standing on a cold floor;

– the high level of saturation of the Ukrainian market with a variety of offers in this area not only equalized the cost of electric heating with the cost of other solutions, but also reduced the price to a level accessible to the majority of the population.

As well as the main advantages, there are also three technical solutions for arranging a warm floor using electric heating:

1) Heating cable is the most time-consuming method that requires the participation of professionals, and is also possible only at the stage of repair in a new house (apartment) or a major overhaul with replacement of the flooring. It consists in laying a heating electric cable under a layer of concrete screed and is considered the most durable, reliable and cheap among the “brothers”;

2) Electric mats – thin, laid directly into the tile adhesive layer, only slightly increases the height of the floor in the final form. Good for replacing existing (obviously worn out) flooring with ceramic tiles;

3) Infrared warm floor – ideal for laying under linoleum, parquet or laminate, as it is a film with a thickness of only 03-05 mm and with a carbon layer applied to it, which propagates infrared waves when heated. Installation of the IR heater is extremely simple and takes a minimum of time: a heat-reflecting film is placed under the heating film, and linoleum or laminate (parquet) is placed on top, after which it is connected to the household power supply through a regular regulator and enjoy the heat.
