What is linoleum and which linoleum is better for an apartment and for an office

Linoleum can be safely attributed to the most inexpensive and common floor coverings. You can meet him almost everywhere – at home, in the office at work and in hospitals, in hotels and many other places.

Linoleum is divided into three types based on the scope of application: household (for home use), semi-commercial (used in offices with low traffic), commercial (for rooms where a lot of people pass every day, for example, shops, showrooms, some offices), transport (has an increased protective wear-resistant layer, used in transport), antistatic (it is used in places where there should be high resistance to static stresses), sports (it is used in indoor sports facilities, it was developed to improve the quality of games), natural (it consists only of natural materials).

According to the structure, linoleum can be divided into two types: homogeneous and heterogeneous linoleum.

Homogeneous linoleum is made of homogeneous full thickness PVC. The protective layer of this type of coating is polyurethane micron spraying. If we talk about the design of this type of linoleum, then we can say about its monotony and that it is almost 100% similar to marble or granite.

Heterogeneous linoleum is made of several layers of PVC:

Protective layer – pure PVC with the addition of some polyurethane, vinyl or other combinations. It takes on almost all the stress of the very wear of the entire coating.

Decorative layer – serves to add color, as well as the design of this coating.

Stabilizing layer – serves to maintain the stability of linear dimensions.

Base – a layer consisting of foamed PVC (chemically or mechanically).

Linoleum at this stage is perhaps the most popular and affordable type of flooring.
